I don’t know about you, but I LOVE surfing the web for fun fashion sites. There are so many! Every designer, brand, store and service has a website and I learn something from each one I visit. You all have such busy lives, though, that you have to make choices about which sites to spend time on. I have some particular favorites that I want to share with you-sites I like to visit and sites I use frequently. I’m sure you’ve heard of many of them and those that you haven’t.....well, maybe you’ll make some new friends!
One site that I’ve enjoyed for many years is bagborroworsteal.com. This was one of the first websites to offer rental of high-end fashion. Here you can buy designer handbags, sell gently used ones to them and, most fun of all, rent from an enormous variety of classic and trendy bags.
Prices vary and you can rent for a few different periods of time, but I LOVE renting an expensive purse for a month, carrying it for a special occasion or using it for an everyday dose of happiness. Paying only one tenth of the price of a new purchase (or even less) seems like true style savvy! I have rented bags for three months at a time, getting a full season out of a trendy piece and shipped it back, or rented for a week to complete one specific outfit. The selection is really diverse, the site is easy to navigate and it’s very user friendly. Take a look!
Have you ever heard of The RealReal? It’s a wonderful site for buying or consigning luxury clothing and accessories for women, men and the little ones. Because all the pieces are resale, you have to be willing to surf the site to find your size but the savings are HUGE!!!
I found a beautiful LBD from Prada for only $325!!! How savvy is THAT? As a personal shopper I have trolled therealreal.com for clients who want to wear designer clothes but won’t pay retail prices. And it’s FUN to do it! My favorite items tend to be the classic ones that transcend seasons, like the beautiful Bulgari Diagono watch I saw that retails for $4200 but is priced here at $1195. I’ve even found great sunglasses, and you know how I ADORE sunnies! Take your time, enjoy the search and your patience can be rewarded with fabulous buys!
Two websites I really enjoy are fashionista.com and whowhatwear.com. Both of them are jam packed with articles, info and amazing fashions with links to purchase many of the pieces. The clothes are very up-to-the-minute and styled creatively. You can get a lot of ideas for your own closet, or buy items that excite you. These two sites are a must-read at Style Savvy!
There are hundreds of sites out there that showcase the best of fashion. Finding them and exploring them is part of the fun; of course the other parts are looking at ( and occasionally buying!) the kind of clothing you don’t see in the mall, and reading the info-crammed articles. Read, enjoy, look or buy, just remember that “trend” is today but “style” is forever!
