Now there are some of you fashionable friends out there who still haven’t gotten holiday gifts for certain people. Right? And then there are those of you ( that I will NEVER be like….) who get all their shopping done by Thanksgiving and are now working on Valentine’s Day and, perish the thought, even thinking ahead to Mother’s Day! What do you two types of people have in common? A Style Savvy gift certificate would help both of you! Here at Style Savvy we’ve made discovering YOU so easy - all you have to do is go to our website and you’ll see the link. Print out a copy when you’re done and you will have a gift ready to give special people in your life who are, or want to become, fashion forward. Could it be any easier? ( well, yes, if I were to miraculously show up on your doorstep!) But without that technology, Style Savvy has made it as painless as possible. We think. See what YOU think!
And now we’re heading into Valentine’s Day. Traditionally, this is a wonderful occasion for your partner to give you flowers, chocolate and something shiny. The stores are flooded with red, pink and white ideas. I have some thoughts……... Instead of being typical, what about finding gifts that will blend with the traditional ones? Red goes so well with animal prints, particularly leopard. Try giving a special someone a leopard belt, or an animal print baseball cap with a red scarf.
And red meshes really beautifully with metallics, What about a silver makeup case and a red lipstick? Here at Style Savvy I did that for my assistants last year and they were thrilled! And of course, there’s pink working with red - two birds with one stone! I ADORE the pink and red pajamas that my husband gave me one year! Pink also works with brown, blue and ….nope, not green. You’ll have them looking like a Maybelline mascara!
One year I gave my husband’s mom a pink and brown Coach bag - that was a big hit. Give a gentleman a blue tie with pink paisley? I love that one! So you see, style and a set color palette don’t ever have to be mutually exclusive. When I shop with a client, we usually look for clothes first, but I’m equally happy to take them gift shopping or shop for them. This might be the perfect bug to put in your partner’s ear, as in “Oh honey, I saw this great gift idea for your sister - and I would love to try it too!” And I have a bunch more suggestions!
Although I rarely dress in the colors of a holiday, I do love mixing them with others for a bit of holiday punch. Are you going somewhere special for dinner on Valentine’s Day? Don’t want a solid pink dress? May I suggest a black dress with a pink floral print? If you’re going a bit casual, you might feel great in dressy jeans, a white silk blouse and a red and white patterned scarf. There are so many combinations, especially if you’re willing to think outside the box. For example, I’m wearing a gold sequined dress with red patent shoes, but I tend to be a little flamboyant on holidays!
You will all feel great about looking great, which is Style Savvy’s whole agenda. We’d be happy to help! Call, email or text - I also do FaceTime. We want to help you look like YOU! Just remember, “trend” is today but “style” is forever”!
